Operations Controller (Colombo)

About Position:

We are looking for an experienced operations controller to oversee our ticketing and reservation operations. As an operations controller, you will be responsible for selecting, placing, and promoting ticketing and reservations staff, ensuring the proper booking and sale of tickets, and maintaining daily records of business transactions.

To ensure success as a ticket operations controller, you should have extensive managerial experience, a friendly and professional demeanor, and detailed knowledge of computerized ticket systems. A top-notch operations controller ensures the smooth running of ticket sales, motivates staff, and quickly sorts out customer complaints.

Basic Qualifications/You Will Have:

  • Will be required to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility in schedule required.
  • Ability to work during the night shift.
  • Overseeing the ordering, sales, and accounting of tickets.
  • Supervising the ticketing and reservations staff.
  • Overseeing staff training activities and designing motivational strategies.
  • Managing and troubleshooting the computer ticketing system.
  • Ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Meeting with event promoters and company representatives.
  • Preparing ticket office reports.
  • Interacting with customers and handling complaints.
  • Maintain daily records of business transactions including ticket sales, receipt deposits, and bad debts.

Basic Qualifications/You Will Have:

To be successful in this role, you will have the following :

  • 2-year minimum knowledge and experience as a ticketing and reservations supervisor with supervisory practices and principles.
  • 3-years minimum working in at least one GDS system required (Apollo and Sabre preferred).
  • 3 years minimum of recent experience with ticketing and processing exchanges.
  • Detail-oriented, work well in a fast-paced environment, and have excellent multi-tasking abilities.
  • Detailed knowledge of computerized ticketing systems and software.
  • High-level numeracy skills.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Ability to motivate staff.
  • Regular and dependable attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Must be motivated, possess a positive attitude, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and have the ability to work independently.
  • Applicant should reside in Colombo
